About me
I have been an organizer my entire life, in one sense or another. I spent the last 24 years creating and running the Utah Arts Festival, an annual event for 80,000 people. Over the same period, I also started a knitting business and, for 18 years, I’ve organized and put on an annual knitters’ retreat. Looking further back, I have vivid childhood memories of cleaning my older brother’s messy bedroom when he was out of the house (boy, did he hate that!), and spending hours rewriting and organizing my mother’s recipe files. All of these experiences may seem different from the idea of home organization, but they all have a common “thread”: I love to take a project, break it down into pieces, re-order, organize, and create a system to make it work more efficiently and effectively. It’s in my blood and is my natural approach to life. That’s why, when I started to think about retiring from the Arts Festival a few years ago, the idea of professional organizing came to mind. I knew I wanted to continue to be of service to my community, and I realized that I could use my passion for organizing to help others simplify, declutter, and streamline their lives. Thus, the Wasatch Organizer was born. I know that it can be a difficult decision to trust someone with your home and your possessions. I can promise that I bring a lifetime of service, patience, and understanding to organizing, as well as a true desire to help you turn the chaos in your spaces into peace. Business Overview
I help clients who are in a transitional phase of life. Whether you are downsizing, helping a loved one move into an assisted living facility, or clearing a home after a loved one has passed, I can ease the stress of transition. My approach and philosophy is rooted in compassion and honoring the client and their life. If you're transitioning to a smaller place to live, I can help you sort through your possessions and help you identify items to save, what we might sell or consign, and what should be donated, recycled, or destroyed (old documents, medicines, hard-drives, etc.) Sometimes it takes an objective third-party to help with decision-making. If you have a family member needing to relocate to an alternative living situation I can help navigate that move and get them resettled while sorting through, organizing, and cleaning out their current space. Emptying an entire home after a loved one has passed can be daunting and overwhelming emotionally, mentally and physically. Let me help you sort and take care of the items left in a home. We'll work together to identify items that are treasures for the family to hold onto, what we might be able to sell or consign and what we can repurpose and donate to others less fortunate in our community.
